(2.)  The Suffolk County SPCA

The Suffolk County SPCA (not affiliated with the ASPCA) is in dire need of any donations that can be made to our not-for-profit organization to continue our efforts in coordinating the treatment of the search and rescue K-9 dog teams working the disaster site.

The Suffolk County SPCA is an all-volunteer not-for-profit agency and relies strictly on public donations to do the important work we do.

Please send all donations made payable to:

  The Suffolk SPCA
  363 Route 111
  Smithtown, NY 11787

The Suffolk County SPCA, has absolutely nothing to do with the Manhattan based ASPCA which is not authorized within the restricted zone were the search and rescue dogs are operating. We are funded solely by private donations and receive absolutely no money whatsoever from the NYC ASPCA, nor are we a subdivision of that agency.

Our volunteer agents rely on your support. To those who have loved ones still missing, it might give you comfort to know that there are hundreds of trained K-9 dogs sniffing every nook and cranny of that disaster site, every minute of the day and night as we speak, searching and searching for survivors.

God bless you all and this great country.

After receiving the following memo we have removed the contact information for the Red Cross.

"In a Statement of Understanding, the American Red Cross recognizes The Humane Society of the United States as the nation's largest animal protection organization responsible for the safety and well-being of animals, including disaster relief."
